What do we do in Kookaburras?

Flat Stanley

Short text about the learning intentions and outcomes.

Mathematics in Kookaburras

The children are encouraged to choose their own apparatus to think through a problem. Sometimes a number line is appropriate, or a hundred square or counting beads.

 Guided Reading

All children have a guided reading lesson once a week. In this session the children develop their reading skills. The teacher supports the children in using phonics, context and graphic clues to decode new words. Though careful questioning and discussion she supports the children in developing their comprehension skills.
