YOUNGSTERS got a taste of life on a submarine thanks to a top children’s author.
Nick Arnold, author of the Horrible Science books, and illustrator Tony De Saulles, have helped create the exhibition at the Royal Navy Submarine museum in Gosport.
The exhibition, called The Horrible Science of Submarines, shows what life was like as a submariner in cartoon form, looking at the food they ate, how they washed and even how they went to the toilet.
The Alton Herald has joined with Alton Town Council in the search for the 2012 Alton Carnival Queen, Prince and Princess to lead the procession in this special Jubilee Year.
Perhaps you would like to enter with the chance of becoming one of the successful participants in this prestigious event for the town which was previously run in the mid 90's.
Full details on how to enter and closing daqted for entrants can be found in your local Alton Herald this week 20th April on page 12.

Mrs Morton said: “All learners will be supported and nurtured to develop a life-long love of learning, respect for themselves and others.”
